Dholera Industrial City has emerged as a key destination for strategic international engagements exploring opportunities in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors and smart industrial ecosystems. According to the ministry, Japanese companies continue to expand their presence across NICDC industrial cities, reflecting strong confidence in India’s manufacturing ecosystem. Nobumitsu Hayashi, Governor of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), led a delegation to the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) flagship industrial park, Dholera Special Investment Region (Dholera SIR) to review the progress of India’s first and emerging Semicon City and assess the fast-advancing greenfield and ‘Plug-and-Play’ industrial infrastructure ecosystem.

વડાપ્રધાન નરેન્દ્રભાઈ મોદી આજે ગુજરાતના પ્રવાસે હતા. ભાવનગર ખાતે ભવ્ય રોડ શો બાદ અનેક વિકાસ કાર્યોના ખાતમુહૂર્ત અને લોકાર્પણ કર્યા બાદ વડાપ્રધાન હવાઈ માર્ગે હડપ્પન સંસ્કૃતિના નગર લોથલ ખાતે આવેલ મેરીટાઈમ મ્યુઝિયમની સમીક્ષા માટે જઈ રહ્યા હતા ત્યારે હવાઈ માર્ગે અમદાવાદ જિલ્લામાં ધોલેરા SIRના બહુહેતુક પ્રોજેક્ટોમાં થઈ રહેલા વિકાસ કાર્યોનું આકાશી તાગ મેળવ્યો હતો. વડાપ્રધાને હેલિકોપ્ટરમાંથી લગભગ 15થી 20 મિનિટ સુધી ધોલેરા SIRના વિવિધ પ્રોજેક્ટોનું વિહંગાવલોકન કર્યું હતું. તેમણે પ્રદેશના ઔદ્યોગિક, ઈન્ફ્રાસ્ટ્રક્ચર અને ગ્રીન એનર્જી પ્રોજેક્ટોની પ્રગતિ અંગે પ્રાથમિક સમીક્ષા કરી હતી. ત્યારબાદ વડાપ્રધાન લોથલ ખાતે રવાના થયા હતા. આ ઉપરાંત વડાપ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ ધોલેરા SIRના આ પ્રોજેક્ટોને ભારતના આગામી ઔદ્યોગિક અને ટેકનોલોજીકલ હબ તરીકે વિકસાવવા માટે પ્રશંસા કરી હોવાનું નિકટવર્તી સૂત્રોએ વધુમાં જણાવ્યું હતું.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) released video footage of Mr. Modi's aerial survey. Envisioned as a greenfield industrial city built around sustainable industrialisation, smart infrastructure and global investment, the Dholera Special Investment Region is around 100 km south of Ahmedabad and 134 km from State capital Gandhinagar.

Japan's ambassador meets Gujarat CM, focuses on stronger bilateral ties and semiconductor investment in Dholera
Gandhinagar, July 11 Japan's Ambassador to India, Keiichi Ono, paid a courtesy visit to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar on Friday, accompanied by Japan's Economic and Development Affairs Minister, Koyoko Hokugo. The meeting came on the final day of Ambassador Ono's three-day visit to Gujarat, which included high-level interactions withmore than 150 industrialists in Ahmedabad and a visit to the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR). During the meeting, Ono expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Gujarat government to more than 350 Japanese companies currently operating in the state.

Principal Secretary to PM reviews key infrastructure projects in Gujarat
Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], June 16 (ANI): P K Mishra, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, conducted site inspections and high-level review meetings in Dholera and Lothal in Gujarat, assessing key infrastructure projects on Monday. These projects are aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for industrial and economic growth, according to a release by PMO. According to the release, P K Mishra visited the under-construction Ahmedabad-Dholera Greenfield Expressway, implemented by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). He highlighted the expressway's potential to reduce travel time between Ahmedabad and Dholera to 45 minutes and emphasised timely execution with global-quality road standards.

DSIR is rapidly emerging as a next-gen industries destination
The journey of building the Dholera Special Investment Region (DSIR) can be described in one word: transformative. It formally began with the enactment of the Gujarat Special Investment Region (GSIR) Act in 2009, a pioneering legislative framework that enabled the planning, development and governance of large-scale industrial zones. Under this Act, Dholera was announced as the first and flagship SIR, envisioned as a Greenfield Smart City — a vision first articulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat. Spanning over 920 sq km, DSIR is India’s largest greenfield urban development initiative.
